Why didn't she use her own weapon? Is it that [a] it's customary to not be armed unless you're going into the field? Or [b] she had to turn over her weapon(s) because she was being shipped out?
Makes no difference to the transcript -- I reported actions, not reasons (well... mostly), but I'm curious. I suspect [b], but [a] could also be true -- or both? .
