My fic and art at Archive of Our Own             My general fannish interactions are at my Dreamwidth journal

A link to a previous Fandom Snowflake challenge has inspired me to rework this bio to include more fannish information. So --

I consider my fanworks a gift to fandom. I may leave fandom (unlikely), and will eventually die (inevitable). I leave my works for new generations of fan-folk to enjoy, as I have enjoyed the works of so many before me, and the works of those who continue to create. May the force be with us, and may we all live long and prosper. 😊

How to Contact Me:

[1] Leave a comment on one of my works; I’ll answer.

[2] Use my Dreamwidth account to send a private message.

[3] Comment on one of the stories at my Dreamwidth fic-account; I’ll answer.

My Position on Transforming my Works   I don’t honestly believe that anyone would want to transform and/or riff off my works. But if you do get inspiration from my works, here are the particulars:

Yes, you may write in one of my ‘universe’s, or make a sequel or a remix of any of my works. You can slash it if you want, add or subtract characters -- whatever feels right to you.

Yes, you may make art for any of my works.

Yes, you may make translations of any of my works.

Yes, you may make podfic of any of my works. (I won’t listen, because I hate being read to, but I salute your inspiration in making it.)

Yes, you may make another podfic, or translation, or art for any of my works, even if those already exist. Different takes are good, and worthy of celebration.

Yes, you may link to my works from other sites.

Yes, you may save my works on your own computer and, if necessary (as in, they disappear from the ‘net), share them with other fans via email. Otherwise, just give them the link; I don’t lock my fanworks.

I prefer that you give credit for inspiration or references, with a link back to my fanworks. And I’d love it if you’d share a link to your work with me, so that I can squee and celebrate with you.

My only “no” is this one: NO, you may not post my works to other sites. AO3 should be stable, despite the vagaries of the internet. If it goes belly-up, hopefully my fannish next of kin will repost them on another stable site. I'll leave my stories here at Dreamwidth but, as long as AO3 remains, this site is only a backup.

Now, if you’re interested in the person behind the profile --

I “discovered” fandom late (around ‘98; I was 46), and fell in love with fanfiction almost immediately. I started writing fanfic in ‘02, because I needed dues to be a fandom list-member on Sentinel Angst. Most of my stories had the impetus of “needing dues” behind them. <g> My stories are (mostly) gen slice-of-life, but I read and enjoy all genres and styles of fanfic. I have about a dozen “favorite” fandoms, but will read in a couple of dozen (literally!) more, depending on my mood and what I stumble across via recs, or fandom friends discussing their latest fandom love.

My job changed in 2010, with much more paperwork requirements; I was still writing -- most evenings and many weekends -- but it was all school-related. My muse was overwhelmed, and writing fanfic came to an abrupt halt. Now that I’m retired, my muse seems to have decided to create art instead of fanfic. If this changes, any new fic -- or some other kind of fanwork; at this point I don’t know what will happen -- will also be posted at AO3, and fic will be copied here.

It is now the first week of January, 2021; I’ll turn 69 years old in March. Both of my parents lived to be 90; I expect to be around for another 20 years of so. But although I try to be careful, accidents and diseases happen. I hope my fandom next of kin will be able to leave a notice here when I’m no longer alive. But if, a bunch of years from now, you leave a comment and I don’t answer within a week... think kindly of me and continue to enjoy my stories and art.
