I do have to admit that I skimmed the letters a bit
<g> We all read to our own preferences; I've done my share of skimming in the past.
character introspective isn't really my cup of tea
Character introspective isn't my normal writing style, either, but the muse insisted on Jim's 'Letter to Blair'. It was uncanny -- no supper, taking only bathroom breaks, finished in one marathon session. What's a poor writer to do? Then the others naturally had to follow.
but I read enough to see you had BOTH of them taking responsibility for their actions - which I always love best.
I feel the same. There were stupid mistakes on both sides, and both men ultimately coming through for the other. They're grownups, and close friends, and I expect them to act that way. (It may take them a little while to get their heads on straight, but eventually...)
However I did read this one completely and really enjoyed it!
Yay! I'm so pleased. And, thank you.
I was almost going to request no stories where Blair leaves but the more I thought about it the more I realized they both probably needed some time apart
I figure it could go any which way -- one leaving, both leaving together, both staying -- but, some way, they have to hash it out and smooth things over between them. So much depends on the imagination and skill of the writer.
And some might avoid TSbyBS entirely. My story "Need to Know" probably wouldn't be your cup of tea, because Blair is having Shaman dreams. But it ends with Jim and Blair going off together for a several-month "learning journey". If I ever wrote a sequel, the guy's relationship would be changed enough that the diss blowup shouldn't happen. I think that's the fun of fanfic -- so many permutations and possibilities.
to really deal with their issues and realize what they meant to each other and that they wanted to try for working together again.
Yes, I think Jim and Blair really care for each other as friends; sometimes they just need to be reminded. ;)
Thanks for the feedback; I really appreciate it. .
