sentinel_thurs had a "First Line Challenge" that I really wanted to answer, because I had asked for it. But, out of two dozen opening sentences that were up for grabs, none of them spoke to me. Then, the son of an LJ friend wanted fics from his mom's friends-list for his birthday, and inspiration hit. The names have been changed, but the general outlines of Blair's "friend" and her "son" are real.
I'm not a coffee drinker, and know nothing about the flavors; I did about an hour of research which ended up in only one line. (Yemen mocha with hint of chocolate.) The young man liked the story, but... he doesn't drink coffee either. Hee! So, one non-coffee-drinker wrote a coffee-flavored story for another non-coffee-drinker. There's a lesson in there somewhere.
No beta, because it's so short; any faults are mine.
